					<description>ranil seems to be the first leader in this country who really seem to believe in the market(out of informed conviction) and be able to stand up and defend that view.
as long as ppl(and political leaders) believe that free and open economy is a necessary evil that is forced on us by world bank etc. and not something that is in fact highly beneficial to us they will never be able to understand or cope with it.
imo one of the responsibilities of our leaders is to clearly articulate the benefits that have already come and will come our way due free markets and take on and defeat the outdated socialist mindset that seems to prevail over the sri lankan intelligentsia.</description>
